Oil on canvas and mixed media paintings

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”

—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Participating in peaceful demonstrations for justice and peace has been a spiritual experience for me. Here are pieces I created in response to the many times I was blessed to walk with others who believed it was worth the time, energy, and risk to bear witness to the hope for a better life and a better world. Look for the peace dove, aka (for me) the Holy Spirit, encouraging and blessing faith in action, and promising the triumph of love and kindness over bitterness, violence, and hate.
